The Faculty of Applied Science at the University of British Columbia is home to the largest co-operative education program in Western Canada, with support for students in Vancouver and the Okanagan. Our curriculum is an educational program that links three major groups: students, employers and the university community.
Over the years the Program has expanded to include co-op options for all undergraduate Engineering disciplines, and more recently, options at the Master’s level. UBC Co-op Engineering undergraduates alternate five relevant, technical and paid work terms with eight academic terms over a five-year period. Master’s-level co-op students combine one or two work terms for completion of their program. Students, who successfully complete the program, will receive Co-op Standing designation on their degree parchment upon graduation.
